2.Alabama                      14-1     Back to the final but falls just short

3.Georgia                        12-2      Back to bridesmaid, for this year at least.

4.USC                                12-2      Getting things back to a high level with a playoff appearance.

5.Clemson                      13-1      Improvement but falls short of goal.

6.Texas                             12-2      Weak conference helps there record but they are improving

7.LSU                                12-2      Close but will fall short, Kelly has surprised me.

8.Oklahoma                  12-2       Also benifits from weak conference, but also improved team.

9.Florida  St                   11-3       They are improving yearly, getting close to playoff contention.

10.Penn St                      11-2       Another solid season, but falls short of ultimate goal.

11.Utah                            11-2       USC gets past them this time, the future is cloudy.

12.Washington             11-3       Losses in last two game taint a fine season.

13.Michigan                   10-3       I just don't see Harbaugh keeping the wheels on.

14.Notre Dame             10-3       Loose the misplaced arrogance and join a Conference

15.Iowa                            10-3        Always competitive, but will never get over the hump.   

16.Oregon                       10-3       They have fallen behind other western teams

17.Wisconsin                  10-4       It will not take Fickell long to get them into the Top 10.

18.Kansas St                  11-2       This is close to their peak, they just do not have the resources

19.Kentucky                  10-3       A solid season but they still cannot take that next step.

20.Miami (Fla)              10-3       I think this is about as good as they can get these days.    

21.Texas A&M                 9-4         Jimbo fails again, how long do they let this go on?

22.UCLA                            9-4         They just cannot compete with USC as of now, changes needed.

23.N Carolina                 9-4         Solid season again, they will not get much better.

24.Pittsburgh                 9-4        This is their reality, borderline Top 25 program.  

25.UTSA                           12-2       The top GOF program, they are building some special.

6.Tulane                           10-3       Another solid season. Will Coach Fritz move up?

7.Ohio                               10-4       Another very good MAC program.

8.SMU                                10-4      Passed up by Tx school UTSA, what will they do?

9.W Kentucky                11-2      Dominant in a weak conference

10.Air Force                    10-3      The top service Academy by a long shot.

11.Miami(OH)                10-3      3rd Ohio MAC school, program on the rise.

12.S Alabama                   9-4      Rising program.

13.UTEP                              9-4      I thought Dimel was toast, I was wrong!!

14.FAU                                 8-5      Plays in the top GOF conference. record is not everything.

15.San Diego St              9-4      Defense still carries this team.

16.Marshall                      8-5      They are close to a top 10 program.

17.Troy                                8-5      Another team built on defense.

18.Fresno St                     8-5      MW Conference is very srong this season.

19.Ga Southern              8-5      Helton has found his niche.

20.E Michigan                  8-5      2nd teir MAC program, still very good.

21.M Tennessee St        8-5      About as good as it gets for this program.

22.San Jose St                8-5      They have improve the last few seasons but gone stagnet.

23.E Carolina                   8-5      They wills truggle to do any better than this.

24.N Illinois                      8-5      Good season for a program searching for consistency.

25.Memphis                     8-5      Trying to find their way back up the list, not happening yet.
