2024 5 Star College Football DRAFT RANKINGS

EXPLANATION OF GRADING

2024 DRAFT REVIEW:

MY VIEWS ON DRAFT EVALUATION:

I decided to stay with simple letter grades for rating team picks and overall draft. Everybody understands them, they will range from A+ to F. The ratings are round sensitive, I will use a multipliers each round and for number of picks.  The Draft is one of my primary reasons for this site, for decades I've watched teams make consistent mistakes and all out failures. Every year I still hear some classic cliches and archaic sayings like "you can't teach speed"  the ever popular "best player available"  and the more recent additions "He had a great Pro Day" or "He blew up the Combine" Following these thought processes consistently blows up in the face of drafting team. If teams would simply draft the best player to fill needs on their team  in the proper round draft failures would be minimized. To me the only things that cannot be taught are Height and Heart!! And if you ignore several years of film and game production for a player who tests well in shorts and a t-shirt you deserve what you get! So yes my innovative views on NFL draft coverage differ wildly but watch, yes I miss one now and then but I'll take the pepsi challenge with anybody out there that mine are more accurate. Starting next year I will be doing my version of a nfl mock draft also. Yes it will be different.

PLAYER GRADING:

Factors in grading are the players draft rating, fit for scheme and lastly need. Some players may receive a higher grade than those with higher Draft Rating due to better scheme fit or filling a primary or secondary need. Points will be lost for drafting players with lower draft ratings than position drafted or questions on scheme fit or need. These decisions are  based solely my own judgement and evaluations. I often differ significantly from so called "Experts" and Draft rooms around the NFL, I also will point out organizations for their failures and continued failures. I do not care who doesn't like it, unlike others I will call it just as I see it with 0.0 worry who I offend!!

TEAM DRAFT GRADING:

My team grading is based on simple math using the initial letter grade and points for a start. I will then add multiplier #1, this is the round sensitive grade, higher rounds receive a higher multiplier and lower receive a lower multiplier, simple enough I believe.  The reasoning for this is higher round picks carry more importance due to talent available and of course Salary Cap implications which can cripple a Franchise. Teams that consistently overdraft limit future movements in Free Agency, also this can limit the Franchise when it comes to the all important 2nd contract for core players. This is often overlooked but a vital component in a successful franchise. Overdrafting in my opinion is the single most overlooked and easily dismissed componant in failing franchises.  In '21  I  added  multiplier#2  this comes from the number of picks a team makes. this multiplier will work both ways. There are 7 rounds so that is the base number, over 7 picks the team will a positive multiplier and under 7 picks a negative multiplier. This will achieve better accuracy as to which team has the true Best Draft.  I've looked at numerous other draft grades from so called "experts" and they are a joke, mostly A's an B's when in reality if you look at history you will find far more average or below average grades after 3 years. My Drafts and grades will be saved in my History section for review after 3 and 5 years, you will not find that information on other sites. NEW  IMPROVED GRADING FOR '22. New for this season, I felt I was in need of some adjustments so I tightened things up just a touch from last season. So after much thought and experimentation. NEW FOR "23. A small change as I went to 3 digits past the decimal for all scores, just more accurate.

My Draft Grades.

TEAM GRADING SCALE

A+ Over 6.00          C+ 3.50 to 3.99

A    5.75 to 5.99      C    3.00 to 3.49

A-  5.50 to 5.74       C-  2.75 to 2.99

B+ 5.00 to 5.49       D+ 2.50 to 2.74

B   4.50 to 4.99        D   2.25 to 2.49

B- 4.00 to 4.49        D-  2.00 to 2.24

                   F  0.0 to 2.00

Base- Is the average of  Player grades. Grades are set by using the following criteria. My rating of the player. How soon the player will be able to contribute. Team need at the position. Fit with the teams coaching and scheme. Players on the board when the pick was made.

Mutiplier #1-Take the picks and add in Multiplier for the round, 1st round highest and so on. The top 3 rounds are by far the most important so they carry the most weight and impact the final score the most. My ratings also reward teams for quality picks in the later rounds but at a much lower rate.

Multiplier #2  This multiplier is much smaller but still very important in determining the top drafts.Take the number of picks overall and add Multiplier #2. 7 round draft so 7 is nuetral, over 7 adds to score under 7 lowers score each pick over or under changes the multiplier. Of course a draft can be made by one pick but teams that year in and year out compete for the title need multiple players from each draft to become starters.

Grade=  Final Grade, Simple enough!

TEAM RANKING THOUGHTS:

WHAT NO F's!! 25 teams at B- or better?  WTF!!! Yes while grading this draft and seeing the high scores coming together I started questioning myself. It's a RARE year when this many teams draft so well, that's just reality. I have said before none of the draft"experts" give any team below a C-  and mostly A's and B's as to not offend anyone. Well I don't care about that, I'm about being honest and RIGHT!! So I'll call them as I seeing em,learn from my mistakes and trust my process on this draft and own my success or failure.

                                           NEW THIS SEASON

                                  DRAFT GRADING COMPARISONS

This season I'll begin to compare my grades directly with others in the business so you can all see who is more accurate. I'M CONFIDENT that i will be on top most seasons. Unfortunatly I cannot put Kiper's most recent failure up due to ESPN hiding it on their pay to see list.  I will list by my Rankings 1-32 for easy reference. I will compare grades with these sites

 2024  QUARTERBACK BACK OVERVIEW/OVERALL GRADE  C+

This season as most, QB's have risen to where as many as 5 could be 1st round picks with 3 in the Top 10, I  DO NOT concur with these assessments..History tells us that most of these players with fail to live up to the unreasonable expectations put upon them and be with another team within 4 years!  I see two 1st round talent and one has major character questions. So here is my '23 QB class

                             2024      QUARTERBACK RANKINGS

Rank       Name        School    Ht     Wt    Rtg    Rnd Value

1.Bo Nix                       Ore        6-2    215   93       Mid 1st

UNDERRATED ALERT! Best all around talent, tough, faced adversity, doesn't get sacked or turnover the ball.  He'll get drafted later and be a steal.

2.Caleb Williams     USC       6-1   215    90      Late 1st

CHARACTER ALERT!! All world talent, HIGHLY questionable attitude/intangables/family. He will get drafted No 1 likely and be added to the list of poor draft decisions by NFL Excecs!

3.Spencer Rattler   SCar     6-0    215    88      Mid 2nd

UNDERATED ALERT! Big arm, athletic enough. played in wrong system, he can excell in right scheme. He'll get drafted much later.

4.Michael Penix       Wash    6-3   215    87      Mid 2nd

Tremendous athlete but consistency is an issue. All world one play and WTF? The next. Has a TREMONDOUSLY  high upside if you can get the light to stay on.

5.Drake Maye            NCar     6-6   225    86      Late 2nd

BUST ALERT!! Lacks arm strength and mobility to be elite. I don't see him ever rising about Top 15

6.Jayden Daniels        LSU      6-3   195    84      Mid 3rd

BUST ALERT!!! A taller Bryce Young and had him right last season! One great season with great recievers. VERY SLIGHT build and going to  apoor team he'll get pounded. Average arm strength at best. He could be effective in right scheme but never elite. He will get drafted VERY high and be termed a bust.

7.J J McCarthey       Mich     6-3   200    82       Early 4th

Always be wary of QB's that rise quickly after the season is over! Has some upside, athletic, smart but arm is average, slight build, limited pro level throws in college. Likely a career B/U who can start in a pinch.

8.Devin Leary              Ky        6-1   215    81       Mid 4th

He can ascend to  QB2 in the right scheme.

9.Michael Pratt        Tula      6-3    220    80       Late 4th

Nice size and arm for a long term B/U.

10.Austin Reed          WKy     6-1   230     78      Mid 5th

SLEEPER ALERT!! Well coached, decent arm, likely ceiling QB2 but could surprise with patience and hard work and the right scheme.

11.Jordan Travis      FlaSt    6-1   210    73      Mid 6th

Should be a solid B/U for years, no real starter tools.

12.Joe Milton             Tenn     6-5   242    72      Late 6th

BUST ALERT!! Some team will fall for the measurables and over draft him.Strongest arm in class by far, ABSOLUTE CANNON, he's been trying to learn how to control it for 5 years, not likely to happen at this level. Worth a late round gamble.

13.Phill Jurkovec     Pitt       6-5   235    71      Early 7th

Former ELITE recruit who bounced around CFB for years, could hold on to a roster spot for a couple years.

14.Garret Schrader     Syr       6-5   228    70     Mid 7th

SLEEPER ALERT!! He can go either way, be cut in training camp or make a team and move up to QB2

15.B Armstrong        NCSt      6-1   210    68     PFA

I once thought much more of him, his development stalled, I WAS WRONG, he'll be lucky to last long.

16.Carter Bradley    SAla       6-3   216    67     UDFA

Nice size and decent arm could hold a roster spot.

17.Jack Plummer    Louis     6-4   215     66    UDFA

SLEEPER ALERT! He could surprise in right scheme and be a solid QB2.

18.Sam Hartman      N D        6-1    210    65    UDFA

Tough gritty, very smart and experienced, could be QB3 before he goes into coaching.

19.J R Plumlee         UCF        6-0     200   64    UDFA

Nice athlete, versatile, could make a team as a QB3  if he embraces that trait.

20.Gunnar Watson   Troy      6-3   205     62    UDFA

Camp arm.

21.T Tagovioloa         MD        5-11  200    60    UDFA

   OUTSIDE  RECEIVERS

Players best suited for the traditional Wide receiver position. Quickness and long speed both important but a big body than can still run can be very effective, strong hands, catch radius, route running  and discipline are vital. Most will play on the primarily outside, some are able to move inside and be effective.

     SLOT WIDE RECEIVERS

Players I deem best suited for playing primarily at the inside receiver position.  Some more quick than fast, some lanky types with good hands and limited speed, some big bodied types than are not Tight Ends can find a home here. With the many diferent offenses teams operate they can find spots for all, if they are smart enough.

2.Cade Stover                  OhioSt  6-4   255    92   Late 1st

UNDERRATED ALERT!! My best all around TE! All others have him rated lower and he will get drafted lower than this and will be termed a STEAL!! He has GRONK 2.0 written all over him. And YES I'LL OWN THAT!!

This can and does trump pure physical prowless and I will rate someone with high football IQ over physical talent, a quick search of the NFL's greatest MLB's will explain my thought process.

1.Jaylen Ford              Tx         6-2  236   87    Mid 2nd

I'm not sure why some don't like this kid, great production, athletic, 3 down player, smart, strong, quick, fast, reponible for 9 turnovers the past two seasons. He will start year one and have a very nice career.

2.Jeremiah Trotter Clem    6-0   230   85    Early 3rd

OVERRATED ALERT!! Some have him much higher, as high as 1st round,  primarily due to pass rush skills. Not always the strongest against the run to me, a primary job of a MLB. still a solid player.

3.Nathaniel Watson  MissSt  6-2   245   83    Late 3rd

This guy really blew up over the past two seasons. 250 tackles, 16 sacks, and 4 turnovers as well as running the defense. Not the most tech sound player but he just makes plays all over the field. He'll be drafted lower than this because he won't test well but the kids a beast and not only will he contribute year one on defense , he will be a fixture on special teams, great team 1st player.

4.Tom Eichenberg   OhioSt 6-2   239   82   Early 4th

Intangables are off the chart, athletic ability marginal and limiting.  Scheme fit will be critical to his success.

5.Nick jackson           Iowa    6-1   234   81   Early 4th

UNDERRATED ALERT!!! As with all Iowa players, heady, well coached and always in the right place, over 450 career tackles, marginal athlete will keep him form greatness but should be a solid long term contributer..

6.Jackson Mitchell UCon   6-2  233     79    Mid 4th

Over 400 career tackles for a very poor team, Solid but unspectacular, he will need to help on Special Teams to stick long term.

Athletic, decent production. He will need to be a Special Teamer to stick.

Not a very deep or elite class, some with wild skill sets but filled unrealized potential at this stage. Still numerous potential fine Special Teamers and role players.

       3-4 INSIDE LINEBACKER

Players best suited for a set with two  inside LB's, very strong as run stoppers but can be a liability against the pass. With many college teams playing 4-2-5 defenses there are more players suited for this position than the traditional MLB.

3.Mike Barrett            Mich 5-11    233   83   Late 3rd

4.Steele Chambers  OhSt   6-1    232    82   Early 4th

Former RB still learning the position, another season would have helped. Strong in coverage, offers little in pass ruch, covers the field with ease. Likely Special Teams demon.

Will have to be a two down player, offers nothing in coverage or pas rush.

        4-3 OUTSIDE LINEBACKER

Strong run defenders with pass coverage ability , pass rush and blitz skills a must. Was once the premier position on the Defense and key to the  defensive side of the ball. There is still some of that needed and those with the highest ability in that discipline are the top players here.

Excellent athlete who lacked coaching at CFB level to live up to him vast potential. 8 Sacks last season were an eye opener to his ability. Covers the field with ease, sure tackler, needs some work in coverage but skillset dictates that will not be to troublesome to fix.

2.Cedric Gray           NCar     6-2   235    86   Late 2nd

Over 360 tackles in last three seasons, show nice coverage ability and offer some pass ruch potential. He can excel in propper scheme.

3.Jett Johnson     MissSt    6-2   230    83   Late 3rd

SLEEPER ALERT!!! I love this kid, every game I watched him he just made plays all over the field. Highly instinctive overachiever who has more heart than raw athleticism but I'll take that. Sure fire Special Teams DEMON!!

4.Curtis Jacobs    PennSt   6-2   235    82   Early 4th

Great size, hard hitter who excell against run,  but could end up 2 down player, struggles in coverage, offers little in pass rush

5.Trevin Wallace       Ky        6-2   241    82    Early 4th

He could be moved inside, atheltism is marginal for the outside but he plays very hard and with an edge. 5.5 sacks show potential.

6.Aaron Casey          Ind       6-1    235    81    Mid 4th

Really blew up some boards with 6.5 Sacks this past season but overall game still has holes. solid B/U and special Teamer but I don't expect much more.

7.Jordan Magee     Temp    6-3   225     80   Late 4th

OVERRATED ALERT!! Many are much higher on him. Had nice production but against lesser competition, I'm not sold on him being more than a B/U and Special Teamer.

8.Jason Johnson      UCF      6-2   224   80   Late 4th

Over 240 tackles the last two seasons, he really covers the field, should excel on Specual Teams.

Usually larger LB's many were speed DE's in college. Must excel in pass rush and blitz  situations, but often not the best run defenders. Many of these players end up as passing down specialists.

INJURY ALERT!!! My big gamble this season. When healthy he has everything you look for but he has some injury history. I see an elite athlete with excellent instincts and production. For his his size and  with abilities in all phases of the position he can be a multi-time ALL PRO!!!

2.Javon Soloman     Troy    6-3    252   85    Mid 3rd

CFB DE. I rarely like DE's who have to move to OLB but he is an exception. 31.5 Sacks the last 3 seasons, sows wild athletic ability along with prototype measurables he can break through and excell.

3.Richard Jibunor    Troy    6-3    233   83    Late 3rd

25 Sacks and 10 turnovers the past 3 seasons, a bit undersized for the position but great athlete with anose for the ball.

6.Austin Booker          Kan     6-6   245   80    Late 4th

FOOLISH decision to declare, one good season. He needed at least one more year. Tes hee has raw ability but completely unrefined at this point, a gamble here but he'll likely go higher and disappoint. Yet another victim of TERRIBLE ADVICE!

For some reason there is a debate on this guy. He has everything you want. Size, quickness, speed, so strong in run support some think he should play Safety, he does it all and at a sky-high level.  Plus he is wildly dangerous as a punt returner. Multi-time ALL PRO HERE.

2.Terrion Arnold       Ala   6-0    198     93    Mid 1st

Another premium prospect who has it all.  No holes in his game plays a major attitude, in a good way! Great Size, quickness, speed , run support and very well coached. Day one Starter, he will have more than one ALL PRO season.

3.K A McKinstry       Ala    6-0    196     92    Late 1st

Another day one starter here, a half step behind the top 2 athletically but even more polished and ready to start. Only negative is , he has limited upside, likely neer his peak right now. Only 2 career INT's is a concern.

2.Jarrian Jones     FlaSt    6-0    190    84      Mid 3rd

12.Willie Roberts   LaTc      5-11    190   75    Late 5th

13.Josh Deberry     TxAM    5-11   173   74    Early 6th

Small and slight, more quick than fast but plays hard, decent in coverage and will likely take well to special teams.worth a late round pick.

Some see him at FS but I like him much better here, he gets downhill very nice but lateral movements are not his strength nor is his long speed, best suited for in the box. He can handle TE's and RB's in pass game but thta's it.

2.Jaden Hicks       WaSt    6-2  212     85     Early 3rd

Much like Nubin but even more restricted to  in the box play. Big hitter with no fear, he will need some work in coverages. Not his strength but he has enough athleticism to be adequate

3.James Williams Mia(F) 6-4 230     84     Mid 3rd

Built like a LB and may well end up there but I'll keep him here. Solid straight ahead quickness but long speed lacking as is lateral quickness.. He will attack in run support and is a handful to block but does over commit at times and is out of position to make the play. Poor College coaching did him no favors.

4.Kenny Logan       Kan      6-0  205    83     Late 3rd

UNDERRATED ALERT!! Likely Day 3 pick.ALL others are down on him because he won't test well, and that's why they are so often wrong. I see over 300 tackles the past 3 seasons, hit's like a truck, likely a Special teams monster. Yes he will need some work in coverage and some control in run support but worth the wait.

5. Kitan Oladapo   OreSt  6-2   219    82     Early 4th

Get's downhill fast, limited in coverage. Likely Special Teams monster who has the tools to develope.

6.Beau Brade            Md      6-1   203    81     Mid 4th

Solid across the board. Not elite in any discipline . High football IQ make up for average athleticism. Should be solid on Special teams.

7.Patrick McMorris Cal     6-0   210    80     Late 4th

Not the big hitter like those above him but very good in coverage. Makes up for average athleticism with a well coached approach to the game and excellent insticts.

8.Jaylon Carlies        Mo     6-3   219   78     Early 5th

Another some see at LB. I do not, 9 INT's and acceptable in coverage but you must limit who he covers. Rock solid in run game and should excel on Special Teams.

9.D Richardson    TxAM   6-1    215   77   Mid 5th

Well built, has excellent tools but poor coaching and his own work ethic held him back. Get his head right and you have a steal here. A gamble.

10.Sanousse Kane    Pur   6-0    205    76   Late 5th

Excels in run game but coverage skills are not there.

11.Cole Bishop          Ut       6-2    209    74   Early 6th

Should help on Special teams, he'll need to because his skills are not there yet, nice upside though. Should have returned to school.

12.Mark Perry          TCU     6-0    211    73   Mid 6th

13.Malik Dunlap  TxTch     6-2   215     72   Late 6th

6 years college CB  who should have been playing Safety all along. His only chance at NFL.

15.Sione Vaki               Ut    5-11  211     71   Early 7th

1.Kam Kinchens   Mia(F) 5-11  205    88     Mid 2nd

Has the best all around game in the group. Excellent quickness and long speed, a bit undersized but plays tough and bigger and fearless. 11 INT's last two season so ball skills are excellent, provides solid run support when needed.

2.Calen Bullock       USC     6-2   190    85     Early 3rd

Great size, quick enough with good recovery speed but not a blazer. Rock solid in run support. Plus ball skills, has a INT TD return each of the last two seasons. He could move to SS and excel there as well

3.Javon Bullard         Ga    5-10   197   83     Late 3rd

Excellent quickness and speed, built like a CB but coverage skills are inconsistent, gambles at times and pays for it. Very good in run support and should be excellent on Special Teams.

4.Evan Williams        Ore     6-0    202   82     Early 4th

Covers the entire field, excels in run support, excellent tackler and hard hitter for size. Has some struggles in coverage and ball skills need some work, he could move to SS but strength in lacking, a tweener.  He should quickly become one of the top Special Teamers on the team.

5.Khyree Jackson    Ore     6-3    193   82     Early 4th

College CB who I think will need to make it here. He will be drafted at CB but his average coverage skill translate so much better here. Long, great speed, excellent athleticism but only started one season.

6.Dec Richardson  MissSt 6-2    190    81     Mid 4th

College CB with 0.0 career INT's and average ball skills. The good side is he is tough, hard nosed player who loves contact, over 160 tackles in past two seasons.. Has the mindset of a Safety so hopefully some GM will be smart enough to see that. But then a smart GM?

7.Tykee Smith            Ga     5-11   200    80     Late 4th

Tough but undersized , average  coverage skills but solid in run support and should excel at Special Teams.

8.Dajon Anthony     Miss   5-11   191   77     Early 5th

Very good coverage skills but built like a CB and tackles like one also, likely career B/U.

9.Cam Hart                   ND     6-3     202   76     Mid 5th

College CB who I just don't see making it there with his career 2 INT's and 8 PD's the past two seasons. He'll have to make it here and on Special Teams, some team will take a shot on him at CB and that won't work.

10.Ro Torrance         AzSt    6-3     210   76     Mid 5th

SLEEPER ALERT!! Another College CBwho will have to make it here. Again average ball skills but tremendous size, decent quickness and nice recovery speed. He should take well to Special Teams. This guy could really surprise with amove here.

11.Akeem Dent       FlaSt    6-1     195   75    Late 5th

12.Josh Proctor       OhSt   6-2     205   74    Early 6th

INJURY ALERT!! He once looked like a early Day 2 pick but staying on the field has been a problem. If you can keep him healthy he will be asteal here.

13.Shawn Preston MissSt 6-0    205    74   Early 6th

14.D Taylor Denison TxTc 5-10  190    73   Mid 6th

Undersized but quick tough and gritty with 10 INT's the past 3 seasons.

15.Jarius Monroe    Tula    6-1     200    72   Late 6th

16.Jaq Sheppard       Md     6-2     195    71   Early 7th

17.Ryan Watts             Tx       6-3    206    71  Early 7th

College CB who had coaches do him no favors by not moving him to FS from Day one. Long, fast and decent in coverage and run support. A year on the practice squad will be quite beneficial, he could surprise, the talent is there.

18.Isaiah Johnson    Syr     6-3    204    70  Mid 7th

Ivy League grad transfer so obviously very bright, 4 year starter at CB but if he has a chance it's here.

19.Jalen Key                Ala     6-1    204    69  Late 7th

20.Jahdae Barron      Tx   5-11    191    69   Late 7th

Very good in run support but coverage skill marginal at best.

21.K Pedescleaux     Tula   5-9    182    68   PFA

Undersized but fearless 5 year player and Multi -Year starter, Should be valuable on special teams

22.Brandon Bishop   Lib    6-0    195     67  UDFA

23.Ray Williams     TxTch   6-3    205     66  UDFA

Long rangy 5 year player who has played multiple positions. If he can work on one he may surptise.

25.Omar Brown         Neb   6-1    200     64    UDFA

2.Joshua Carty       Stan   6-2   208   80    Late 6th

Excellent numbers the past two season but rarely has kicked in any big games or inclimate weather.

Should make a team, solid 82% rate and never missed a XP.

Expirienced in both PR and KO's, 2 career TD's. Valuable as a Slot receiver. High value pick.

2.Smoke Harris  LaTch  5-7  188   74      SWR   Early 6th

Has handled both PR and KO's, dependable but only 1 TD, Should be able to contribute as a SWR.

3.Xavier Worthy  Tx        6-1  164    92     SWR   Mid 1st

Very effective PR but no KO experience, likely won't spend much time here, to valuable at receiver.

4.DaQuan hardy  PeSt    5-9 179    69      SCB    Late 7th

This may seriously help him make a team, 2 TD's last season on PR

ROUNDS ONE/ TWO

1.Chicago              Caleb Williams  QB      USC        B

CHARACTER ALERT!!  Will he be another Mahomes or another Jeff George? Likely he will be some of both. His character is questionable for a good reason, talent is not the question.

2.Washington    Jayden Daniels   QB     LSU        D

BUST ALERT!!! I'm just not seeing the reasons for him going this high, slight frame, average arm strength at best, sure he's athletic but look at the receivers he had!

3.New England      Drake Maye     QB  N Carloina     D-

BUST ALERT!!! Bill is gone and they still can't draft,  good kid, but average athlete, below average arm and from an offense that does not translate well to NFL. He will never be more than middle of the pack guy, NOT what you want at #3

4.Arizona         Marvin Harrison Jr  WR  Ohio St       A+

My top overall player, plug and play for 10 years plus, fills a major need he will be a  n All Pro within 3 years if Murray can get his head out of his ass and realize how good he can be with some work.

5.LA Chargers        Joe Alt   LT    Notre Dame            A-

Great player, great value. They only lose points because they had bigger needs. That said I see the reasoning for the pick. Plug and play for 10+ years with ALL PRO potential.  Harbaugh better hope he lives up to it.

6.NY Giants          Malik Nabers   WR   LSU             A

My "Most likely to become a WR DIVA" If he can keep his head on straight he can be a perennial ALL PRO. Or he may end up another Beckham, flash all the talent but toss it away with a poor attitude.

7.Tennessee      J C Latham        RT    Alabama     D

Rock solid player who will likely start year one and for a decade more. The problems are, WAY to early, better options on the board. I had a Mid 2nd grade on him. If they try him at LT he will fail, pure RT and nothing else.

8.Atlanta       Micheal Pennix    QB    Washington   B-

You pay a guy 100 Million to play QB then draft one, AT #8? With the offensive weapons on the board this pick makes little sense The raw talent is obvious but with his injury history and inconsistencies  this pick is a head scratcher.

9.Chicago   Rome Odunzie      WR      Chicago        A

Great player, fills a major need, he should be able to handle the weather, rock solid pick.Thomas still has more upside in my opinion but I can for sure understand their thinking.

10.Minnesota   J J McCarthy  QB     Michigan     D

Think about all the players who rise meteorically after the season and tell me the pass/fail rate. IT'S NOT GOOD!! He can be a starter/quality QB2 in the league as he reminds me of a slightly more athletic Colt McCoy, so they avoid total; failure for the pick.,but you  trade up for him? Someone will get fired for this pick.

11.NY Jets              Olu Fashanu        LT    PennSt      B

Solid in pass protection but inconsistent in run blocking, has the tools to make this pick work. That said, maulti year starter didn't do it at PSU.My ratings have better players on the board.

12.Denver               Bo Nix                    QB   Aub             A+

UNDERRATED ALERT!! My #1 QB 6th QB taken, numerous teams will regret passing on him! He will be starting by mid season the latest.

13.Las Vegas        Brock Bowers      TE    Ga               A

Really more of a big WR if he is played that way he will be abeast, pure playmaker.

14.New Orleans Taliese Fuaga       RT    OreSt         A

My #1 RT. As long as they don't try to move him to LT he will be a plug and play multi-year starter  and Pro Bowler

15.Indianapolis Laiatu   Latu          DE    UCLA          A-

If he stays healthy this will be a great pick, worth the gamble. They lose a little due to better players on board.

16.Seattle             Byron Murphy     DT   Tx                 F

BUST ALERT!!! WTF?? Major reach here. He;s not ready and should have gone back to school. He may produce in a couple years but not what you want here.

17.Minnesota     Dallas Turner       DE    Ala               A+

Top 10 talent at #17!! Nothing more to say!

18.Cincinnati     Amarius Mims      RT    Ga                A

Another player who must play the RT spot to reach his full potential, he should slide right into the line-up quickly.

19.LA Rams         Jared Verse           DE    FlaSt          A+

My #1 DE! They get him at #19, GREAT  PICK

20.Pittsburgh    Troy Fautanu          G      Wash         A

Great scheme fit and fills a need, I had him as my #2 G but rated here for value,  he will start sooner rather than later.

21.Miami            Chop Robinson      DE     PennSt     A-

They only lose a few points for a bit early and possibly better fits on the board.

22.Philadelphia Quinyon Mitchell CB    Tol            A

He has all the tools, he will need some work to get used to the speed difference from the MAC but that will happen, Solid pick

23.Jacksonville  Brian Thomas     WR    LSU           A+

He has more upside than any WR in the draft. Hopefully they won't waste it.

24.Detroit              Terrion Arnold    CB    Ala             A+

One of the top VALUE picks in the 1st round, teams that passed on him will regret it.

25.Green Bay        Jordan Morgan   LT    Az               D

Is he a RT or LT? My bet is he ends up at RT. Once  you decide that, he's  not a bad player but this is far to early to pick him and much better options on board.

26.Tampa Bay       Graham Barton  C/G Duke         B\

Another who can play multiple spots, which one is best? A round to early and better options on board.

27.Arizona              Darius Robinson  DE  Mo            A

Very powerful and My #! 34 DE. He can excel if used correctly, he will start day one!

28.Kansas City      Xavier Worthy    SWR  Tx           A+

My Top SWR!! He can play outside but his slight build will be a problem. This staff is smart enough to know what. He will be a great fit.

29.Dallas                Tyler Guyton         RT    Okl         F

BUST ALERT!!! Another classic Jones pick!! Effin stupid reach. Not a bad player just three rounds early. This is why Dallas will NEVER win another Super Bowl as long as a Jones is in the building.

30.Baltimore          Nate Wiggins         CB   Clem     B

Has all the tools but typical of recent Clemson DB's, soft as hell in run game. Surprised to see the Ravens make this mistake with better fits on board.

31.SanFrancisco  Ricky Pearsal       SWR Fla          D-

This would be the worst pick of the round if not for  Dallas. This pick makes no sense, he would have been there two rounds later, at least!!

32.Carolina             Xavier Legette      WR  SCar      B

Nice player, perhaps they like his fit better than several others I have rated much higher, just a bit early for him here as well, this may work out fine for them.

Pk      Team                   Name                      Pos      Sch      Grd

33.Buffalo                Keon Coleman        WR     FlaSt       C

Great kid but far too early here and better options on board. He has some possession receiver ability but speed/quickness is going to be a problem. Still, he should have a nice niche career..

34.LA Chargers      Ladd McKonkey    SWR   Ga             A+

Love this guy, he'll be driving DC's crazy for years. He should operate from the Slot for best results, outside he will struggle with bigger CB's.

35.Atlanta                Ruke Orhorhoro     DE     Clem        A

Rock solid pick, scheme fit, he'll be in the rotation and a force this season.

36.Washington      Jerzhan Newton     DT     Ill               A

Another solid DL pick. Look for him to start week 1

37.New England   Jaylin Polk                 WR   Wash        A-

Finally the patriots make a good pick. Bill was past him time to go.

38.Tennessee          Tvondre Sweat         NT    Tx             F

BUST ALERT!!!  Why?? Far to early, far to much baggage, far too much weight. Pure NT, plug up middle guy with no real upside and numerous red flags.

39.Carolina              Braden Fiske             DE    FlaSt       C

Decent rotational piece but little more. Guys who blow up the combine RARELY live up to that hype. He won't change that.

40.Philadelphia     Cooper DeJean        CB    Iowa        A+

THE TOP PICK IN THE DRAFT!! Many teams will regret passing on this kid, I see him at CB, but even at Safety he will dominate. plus great punt return skils.

41.New Orleans     Kool A McKinstry    CB     Ala           A+

Another 2nd round steal. !st round talent and a starter on day one and for the next decade. Look for several Pro Bowls.

Solid all around corner with  nice upside, just a bit early

43.Arizona                Max Melton               SCB   Rut          D

WILDLY to early, major reach for a guy who will only start out of necessity if ever, CB4 at best. Not what you want in Round 2.

44.Las Vegas            J Powers Johnson    C      Ore         A

He will be starting sooner rather than later. Excellent pick here

45.Green Bay          Edgerin Cooper         LB    TxAM      A

He will be in rotation day one and likely starting this season.

46.Carolina             Jonathan Brooks       RB    Tx           B

I must question the pick, serious injury late last season. This guy should have gone back to school.

47. Minnesota         Tyler Nubin                   SS    Minn      A+

My top Safety, look for him to start for many seasons to come.

48.Jacksonville     Maason Smith             DE    LSU        B-

WILD upside and nice fit, he's just not ready yet, should have returned to school, I'm truly surprised he went this early.shocked

49.Cincinnati          Kris Jenkins                 DT    Mich       A

He should fit right in, he will certainly be in the rotation day one.

50.Washington      Mike Sainristil            SCB  Mich       C+

Solid player but unlikely starter, far to early for him.

62.Baltimore          Zach Frazier                   C     WVir        A

He will be a long term starter .

52.Indianapolis     Adinai Mitchell           WR   Tx             A+

UNDERRATED ALERT!!!  A steal at this spot, 1st round talent all over this kid.

53.Washington      Ben Sinott                      TE   KanSt      D

MAJOR reach, complete OVERDRAFT for a situational player.

54.Cleveland          Michael Hall                  DT   OhSt        B

Quckest 1st step of any DT in the draft, tremendous upside but has had trouble staying healthy.  If he can stay healthy he will be a steel here, but just too early for his history.

55.Miami                  Patrick Paul                    LT    Hou         A+

OUTSTANDING PICK!! 1st round talent, my #2 LT. He'll start this season.

56.Dallas                  Marshawn Kneeland  DE   WMich   A-

Small conference stud, just a bit early here, nice upside.

57.Tampa Bay        Chris Braswell              OLB  Ala          A

1st round talent but not a sure thing due to scheme.

58.Green Bay          Javon Bullard                FS     Ga          B

I have this pick about around early. He should be a contributer but better options on board.

59.Houston              Blake Fisher                   RT   NDame  B+

Nice upside but he should have gone back to school, don't expect much this season.

60.Buffalo                Cole Bishop                     SS   Utah        F

61.Detroit                Ennis Rakestraw           CB   Mo           A-

Just a bit early, he should be arotion piece this season.

Another pick that myself and the team wildly disagree about, 6th round grade from me.

63.Kansas City      King Suamataia             LT     BYU        F

Great size, athleticism, smart kid. Production just not there. A reach in the 2nd round , I had him late 4th.

My top Safety, look for him to start for many seasons to come.

OUTSTANDING PICK!! 1st round talent, my #2 LT. He'll start this season.

MONSTER REACH HERE! Small school player who while very athletic he will struggle to adjust for anything more than spot duty.

Nice, solid player but limited athlete. Topped out, no real upside and just rotational piece at best.
