Could have great size/speeed and unrealized potential. Possibly excells at at least one aspect of the position. Could carve out a longer career as a backup or special teams ace. EXPLANATION OF OTHER TERMS
BUST ALERT!!! A player highly ranked by many others but one I do hold in the same regard. Also, this term will be used for players who I call "ONE YEAR WONDERS" these players are either freakish athletes or players who had one season that FAR exceeded their previous production creating serious risk. This term will be reserved for 1st round projections where mistakes can cripple a franchise.
OVERRATED ALERT!!! Similar to the above but not as extreme, for after 1st/2nd rounds.. Players are not as highly rated so mistakes while still important do not carry the same weight. There are multiple reasons for this designation some but not limited to character, talent, injuries, college scheme or system.
UNDERRATED ALERT!!! Players I feel deserve a higher ranking than many/most other so called experts. These players in the future will be referred to as "STEALS" but I want it known my evaluation were on point when they were drafted.
SLEEPER ALERT!!!! A player that perhaps played in a poor scheme for his talents, suffered from poor coaching, revolving door coaching, poor supporting cast but has shown flashes that can lead him to success in the proper environment.
POSITION CHANGE ALERT!!! These are players who I feel due primarily to their skill set or more rarely at times measurables will reach their maximum level of NFL success by changing from their primary College position.
CHARACTER ALERT!!! This designation is reserved for players who have had multiple issues concerning there character. This can be legal issues, multiple transfers, poor practice habits, friction with teammates and/or Coaches, Academic issues and or any other infraction that brings into question the players decision making. Teams must weigh the risk/reward related to these players VERY CAREFULLY!!
INJURY ALERT!!!! A player with serious injury concerns, medicals vital. Possibly multiple injuries while in college or one severe injury. Also could have a long history in College and even perhaps High School "Injury Prone" is the common term. If you are missing time on the field you are costing your team $$$$
2024 OUTSIDE CORNERBACKS
This year I will continue to split up the CB position, with evolution the NFL game has created a need for both outside and inside CB's with both requiring specific skills. Sucess at one does not automatically guarantee success at the other. Outside CB's will need long speed as well as short are quickness and will be evaluated accordingly. They also need at the least adequate run support skills, be adept in press man coverage as well a variety of zone schemes.
2024 CORNERBACK POSITION OVERVIEW A+
With 6 players possibly going in the Top 50 picks this is an excellent year. Numerous mid round players also available with correctable flaws. One of the best drafts in years.

1.Cooper Dejean Iowa 6-1 205 94 Mid 1st
For some reason there is a debate on this guy. He has everything you want. Size, quickness, speed, so strong in run support some think he should play Safety, he does it all and at a sky-high level. Plus he is wildly dangerous as a punt returner. Multi-time ALL PRO HERE.
2.Terrion Arnold Ala 6-0 198 93 Mid 1st
Another premium prospect who has it all. No holes in his game plays a major attitude, in a good way! Great Size, quickness, speed , run support and very well coached. Day one Starter, he will have more than one ALL PRO season.
3.K A McKinstry Ala 6-0 196 92 Late 1st
Another day one starter here, a half step behind the top 2 athletically but even more polished and ready to start. Only negative is , he has limited upside, likely neer his peak right now. Only 2 career INT's is a concern.
4.Quin Mitchell Tol 6-0 195 91 Late 1st
Strong, physical CB with no fear of run support. 37 PD's and 6 INT's last two season when teams were avoiding him. Domminant at time. He'll need some adjustment time after playing in MAC but has the tools to make that happen.
5.T J Tampa IoSt 6-1 195 89 Early 2nd
Great size, checks all the boxes on athleticism. Strong in run support, elite in man or zone. only 3 career INT's but teams avoided him whenever possible.
6.Nate Wiggins Clem 6-2 189 87 Late 2nd
OVERRATED ALERT!! Most others have him in top 3. Typical Clemson CB of late, great size, tests excellent but very soft against the run. He will be a solid corner but teams will run at him all day long.
7.Kamari lassiter Ga 6-0 188 85 Early 3rd
He had his best season last fall, improved in all areas especially in run support but still could have used another year of work at College level.
8.Ennis Rakestraw Mo 6-0 185 84 Mid 3rd
He has flashed big time ability but consistency is lacking.
9.Elijah Jones B C 6-2 184 83 Late 3rd
Well-coached, 22 PD's and 7 INT's last two seasons. Long and rangy.
10.Josh Newton TCU 6-0 185 82 Early 4th
He plays hot and cold. Consistency is an issue. If you can get him right he will be a starter.
11.D McGlothern Ark 6-2 185 79 Late 4th
Long, rangy and no fear in run support, He caused 10 turnover the past two seasons. Can be a Special teams gem.

He may have to move inside.

2024 SLOT CORNERBACKS
A continued new position this year and all years to follow, NFL execs would do themselves a favor if they adopted this as well. Today's NFL with at least 3 WR's on the field most downs this has become an actual position and one I believe should be evaluated and drafted for. Short area quickness and "twitch" are both vital as well as effective tackling skills. Slot WR's can vary widely from larger framed leapers to diminutive "waterbug' types so versatility is paramount to excelling at this position. Many players are of the smaller and quick mode but you will also see a few larger players who I believe their skill sets fit better here. While these players will be valuable pieces of the defense, on the field quite often and at times entire games rarely will you find a player I consider solid 1st round value.
2024 SLOT CORNERBACK POSITION OVERVIEW D
One player who can fill the spot but after that everyone has serious holes in their game. No Day one picks here, no 2nd rounders either.

Undersized but has a nice mean streak in him, very tough. 26 PD's last two seasons and 4 INT's last fall. Also has 99 tackles in the past two seasons so NO FEAR in run support. He may well out perform this assessment!
2.Jarrian Jones FlaSt 6-0 190 84 Mid 3rd
Could play outside if needed but this is his best spot. Took some steps in run support and has all the tools. He just has not lived up to his measurables, still #2 here. That tells you this class is not good.
3.D J James Aub 6-0 175 83 Late 3rd
Slight but tough. Plays bigger than his weight bsays, nice coverage skills, more quick than fast, no fear in run support.
4.Mike Sanstrill Mich 5-9 182 82 Early 4th
Undersized but always in the right place, very tough, nose for the ball. Lacking in long speed but nice quickness. He should be a Special Teams DEMON!!!
5.Max Melton Rut 5-11 187 81 Mid 4th
He can play slot or CB4 along with Special Teams, value pick here.
6.Andru Phillips Ky 5-11 190 80 Late 4th
Solid in run support, coverage skills can be inconsistent. Strong , nice quickness and tools, needs work but can develop, nice upside.

9.Beanie Bishop W V 5-9 180 78 Early 5th

12.Willie Roberts LaTc 5-11 190 75 Late 5th
Another tough smaller player who should excel on Special teams and fill in at CB when needed.
13.Josh Deberry TxAM 5-11 173 74 Early 6th
Small and slight, more quick than fast but plays hard, decent in coverage and will likely take well to special teams.worth a late round pick.
14.C Smith Wade WaSt 5-10 184 73 Mid 6th
15.Marcellas Dial SCar 5-11 187 72 Late 6th

2.Jaden Hicks WaSt 6-2 212 85 Early 3rd
Much like Nubin but even more restricted to in the box play. Big hitter with no fear, he will need some work in coverages. Not his strength but he has enough athleticism to be adequate
3.James Williams Mia(F) 6-4 230 84 Mid 3rd
Built like a LB and may well end up there but I'll keep him here. Solid straight ahead quickness but long speed lacking as is lateral quickness.. He will attack in run support and is a handful to block but does over commit at times and is out of position to make the play. Poor College coaching did him no favors.
4.Kenny Logan Kan 6-0 205 83 Late 3rd
UNDERRATED ALERT!! Likely Day 3 pick.ALL others are down on him because he won't test well, and that's why they are so often wrong. I see over 300 tackles the past 3 seasons, hit's like a truck, likely a Special teams monster. Yes he will need some work in coverage and some control in run support but worth the wait.

2.Calen Bullock USC 6-2 190 85 Early 3rd
Great size, quick enough with good recovery speed but not a blazer. Rock solid in run support. Plus ball skills, has a INT TD return each of the last two seasons. He could move to SS and excel there as well

5.Khyree Jackson Ore 6-3 193 82 Early 4th
College CB who I think will need to make it here. He will be drafted at CB but his average coverage skill translate so much better here. Long, great speed, excellent athleticism but only started one season.

College CB with 0.0 career INT's and average ball skills. The good side is he is tough, hard nosed player who loves contact, over 160 tackles in past two seasons.. Has the mindset of a Safety so hopefully some GM will be smart enough to see that. But then a smart GM?

College CB who I just don't see making it there with his career 2 INT's and 8 PD's the past two seasons. He'll have to make it here and on Special Teams, some team will take a shot on him at CB and that won't work.
10.Ro Torrance AzSt 6-3 210 76 Mid 5th
SLEEPER ALERT!! Another College CBwho will have to make it here. Again average ball skills but tremendous size, decent quickness and nice recovery speed. He should take well to Special Teams. This guy could really surprise with amove here.
11.Akeem Dent FlaSt 6-1 195 75 Late 5th
12.Josh Proctor OhSt 6-2 205 74 Early 6th
INJURY ALERT!! He once looked like a early Day 2 pick but staying on the field has been a problem. If you can keep him healthy he will be asteal here.
13.Shawn Preston MissSt 6-0 205 74 Early 6th
14.D Taylor Denison TxTc 5-10 190 73 Mid 6th
Undersized but quick tough and gritty with 10 INT's the past 3 seasons.

16.Jaq Sheppard Md 6-2 195 71 Early 7th
17.Ryan Watts Tx 6-3 206 71 Early 7th
College CB who had coaches do him no favors by not moving him to FS from Day one. Long, fast and decent in coverage and run support. A year on the practice squad will be quite beneficial, he could surprise, the talent is there.
18.Isaiah Johnson Syr 6-3 204 70 Mid 7th
Ivy League grad transfer so obviously very bright, 4 year starter at CB but if he has a chance it's here.
19.Jalen Key Ala 6-1 204 69 Late 7th
